HAS-12 Air Insulated Ring Main Unit

HAS-12 air-insulated switchgear is the latest generation of ring network switchgear and is also a new equipment promoted by State Grid following solid-insulated switchgear. Its patented design not only retains the small size and high electrical performance of traditional SF6 gas-insulated and epoxy resin solid-insulated switchgear, but also further solves the environmental problems caused by SF6 gas emissions and excessive use of materials such as epoxy resin. It has good interchangeability with existing SF6 gas-insulated and solid-insulated switchgear and is the latest generation of environmentally friendly switchgear.

  • Usage environment


    Normal use conditions


    △ The maximum ambient air temperature does not exceed 40℃, and the average value measured within 24h does not exceed 35℃, and the minimum is not less than -15°C

    △ The altitude does not exceed 1000m:

    △ Humidity conditions

    Relative humidity: daily average value does not exceed 95%, and monthly average value does not exceed 90%.

    Water vapor pressure: daily average value does not exceed 2.2kPa, and monthly average value does not exceed 1.8kPa.

    The surrounding air is not obviously polluted by dust, smoke, corrosive and flammable gases, steam or salt spray.


    Special use conditions

    ① When the ring network cabinet is installed in an area with an altitude of more than 1000m, the ordering party shall negotiate the factory conditions with the manufacturer and request relevant test reports

    ②) When the maximum ambient temperature exceeds 40°C, the rated current carrying capacity of the ring network cabinet must be reconfirmed by the manufacturer when ordering.


    Scope of use

    HAS-12 type ring main unit is used for segmentation, connection and load tapping of cable lines and cable-to-overhead lines in 12kV power systems.

Structural characteristics

Compared with the commonly used ring main unit, the HAS-12 type ring main unit is designed with two upper and lower isolation switches, a grounding switch, two upper and lower contact boxes and valves. It has intuitive status, simple operation (electric), convenient maintenance, and safe and reliable operation.


HAS-12 type direct air circuit breaker is not only connected with the whole cabinet freely, but also has the following characteristics:

1. The vacuum arc chamber is combined with the upper and lower disconnectors into a sealed pole. After the disconnector is opened, the contact arm shrinks in the pole, and the whole switch can be pulled out of the cabinet for replacement or maintenance

2. Because the upper and lower contact arms are vertically extended, a nearly straight conductive circuit is formed from the busbar to the cable connector, the circuit length is shortened, and the volume of the whole cabinet is minimized under the premise of using air as the main insulation;

△ The heating parts such as the isolation contact can be directly observed to ensure safety;

△ The parameters such as the opening distance, overtravel, and synchronization that need to be detected and adjusted the most can be easily detected and adjusted;

3. In areas above 1000m above sea level, the whole switch is sealed in the high-voltage switch room and maintained at no less than an absolute atmospheric pressure, and is no longer affected by the external environment;

4. The disconnector is electrically operated, making the operation safer and more labor-saving, especially suitable for unmanned substations and box-type substations.
